CCI, Huronia Chapter – Lunch Webinar

The Canadian Condominium Institute [“CCI”], Huronia Chapter, is pleased to announce that Mina Tesseris and Yvan Koval will be guest speakers for the Canadian Condominium’s fifth and final Lunch Webinar titled What a Nuisance!

Webinar, June 23, 2023 – Noise – what the Condo Act and its Regulations define as a noise nuisance. What does your Declaration or Rules say? When is something a noise nuisance? Where is the balance of interests? What is the Condominium’s role? Learn some of the critical elements of managing these claims effectively.

Join Mina and Yvan as they discuss and answer questions on how Condo Boards and Property Managers should handle noise nuisance complaints and how those with noise nuisance complaints should address these issues with the condo corporation. CIQS Congress 2023

Canadian Condominium Institute

The Canadian Condominium Institute [“CCI”] is pleased to announce Mina Tesseris’ appointment as Leader of the Canadian Condominium Institute.

January 6, 2022 – As a long-standing Director of the CCI Huronia Chapter, and with countless hours devoted to the CCI’s  Education Committee, we are pleased to announce that Mina Tesseris’s license application for Leader of the Canadian Condominium Institute [“LCCI”] has been approved. As LCCI, Mina will continue to help fulfill the CCI’s mission by providing education, information, awareness and access to expertise by and for members of the CCI.

CIQS 2021-2022 Board of Directors

CIQS is please to announce Antoine Aurelis’ appointment as a member of its board of directors.

Markham, ON, September 13, 2021 – The Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (“CIQS”) held a virtual Annual General Meeting on September 9, 2021. During this meeting, CIQS chair Erin Brownlow and CIQS chief executive officer Sheila Lennon made brief speeches about the state of the Institute, followed by votes on by-law changes, the appointment of the auditor and the appointment of Antoine Aurelis as a member of the CIQS 2021-2022 board of directors.

CIQS ESTABLISHES PROMPT PAYMENT TASK FORCE

CIQS received an excellent response to the call to serve on the CIQS prompt payment task force, which has the following Terms of Reference:

“Review the current and ongoing reforms in respect of prompt payment across Canada and how these impact CIQS members. Develop strategies, approaches and action for review by the CEO of CIQS such that they can be presented to the CIQS board for consideration and implementation”.

Following a diligent review process, the CIQS board is pleased that the following senior industry professionals have been selected to serve on the CIQS Prompt Payment Task Force for a period of two years:
• Ali Fard PQS – Partner, HKA (Chair)
• Gregory Stallard – Senior Project Manager, Turner and Townsend
• Merza Irfan – Manager, Contract Administration, Metrolinx

The CIQS Prompt Payment Task Force also includes, Sheila Lennon, CEO, CIQS and Antoine Aurelis, PQS, Practice Lead, Arbitech Inc. as the representative from the CIQS Board.
